EveryLibrary today announced a new $3,000 donation from OverDrive, the leading provider of ebooks through public libraries in the US and around the world. OverDrive, under the leadership of Steve Potash, is continuing its support of libraries and helping EveryLibrary expand its grassroots campaigns and work building voter support for libraries. Since early 2013, EveryLibrary has successfully supported over a dozen bond, levy, parcel tax, and other referendum campaigns for libraries, helping to secure over $20 million in stable tax revenue for these libraries.
“EveryLibrary is a unique and effective organization for library advocacy,” says Potash. “For every dollar spent on library ballot campaigns this year, they have helped return far more in public funding for libraries. It’s important for communities nationwide that libraries continue to flourish.”
John Chrastka, EveryLibrary executive director, added, “OverDrive’s donation adds capacity to our work consulting and advising campaigns through the remainder of 2014. Mr. Potash and his team place an important emphasis on supporting the library advocacy ecosystem, and we are proud of their support for our work.”
OverDrive (www.overdrive.com) is a leader in library advocacy and is the leading digital media platform for readers to borrow eBooks, audiobooks, music, and streaming video from their local libraries and schools.
EveryLibrary is a politically active organization that is supported by contributions from individuals, corporations, and unions nationwide who believe that libraries matter in our society.
